The NSW State Electoral Office (SEO) has selected IPP Technologies (IPP) and LogicaCMG to design, develop and implement an Election Management Application (EMA) to support the NSW State Election to be held in March 2007.
The solution will support 93 satellite offices statewide with approximately 350 users working across an array of key electoral process including nominations, postal voting declarative voting, inquiry, excuses, election results and management and data distribution
While IPP has been appointed as the primary contractor for the project, LogicaCMG will be responsible for the technical solution, testing and implementation. The EMA will be designed to manage four types of election events including a State General Election (SGA), Legislative Assembly By-Election, Local Government Election (LGE) and a Referendum.
According to LogicaCMG's chief executive, Colin Holgate, the powerful LogicaCMG / IPP combination triumphed as the duo demonstrated a compelling track record of a customer focussed, cost-efficient and proven approach.
"LogicaCMG has extensive experience in election management systems and a solid understanding of the SEO business processes gained from a long association with the SEO," said Mr Holgate.
LogicaCMG developed the EMS 2000 Election Management System for the Victorian Electoral Commission for the 1999 Victorian State Election and election related systems within the SEO for more than 11 years.

"The IPP and LogicaCMG system will provide direct feeds of election results to all four major Australian television channels on election night and sources the data that is displayed in the election night tally room at Homebush Bay where politicians appear throughout the night," said Colin Barry.
"The IPP and LogicaCMG team succeeded in the resulting tender process because of their demonstrated skill and experience in developing election management solutions," Colin Barry added.
"We are excited with our association with LogicaCMG and looking forward to delivering this mission critical application to the State Electoral Office" said Mr Subba Rao Varigonda, Managing Director of IPP.
