My GIFTS, the first of the GIFTS Connections suite of modules, has been designed around the open and pervasive technologies of the Internet and the World Wide Web. These technologies include: TCP/IP networking protocol, Hyper Text Mark-up Language (HTML), and Extensible Mark-up Language (XML).
 
My GIFTS makes GIFTS data and functionality available to the user via the web.
Furthermore, because the GIFTS Connections Server (GCS) and My GIFTS make use of the GIFTS business logic, it incorporates the same transaction management features that are built into GIFTS, to ensure the integrity of data updates and to maintain the consistency of the database.

My GIFTS compliments GIFTS by providing internal staff with a similar set of core grants management functionality, but within an easy-to-use, Internet-enabled Web browser format.  This means that a broad segment of users within your organization will have direct access to GIFTS data, without the assistance of grants management staff, and they'll have this access from anywhere they have Internet access. 

While My GIFTS supports basic grants management functionality - you can perform all of the key tasks associated with a grant request - we've designed My GIFTS to support levels of customisation and personalization impractical in a Windows-based product.  My GIFTS presents each user with a customized homepage that dynamically aggregates all of the timely and critical information they need to see on a daily basis, providing users with a birds-eye view of your programs and an easy-to-operate launch pad for drilling down to discover supporting details.
