The Branch Security Option expands the power of the GIFTS database for organizations with multiple sites or branches, or with multiple foundations or funds.  Branch Security allows grant making organizations to capture all of their information in a centralized GIFTS database, while assigning specific users or groups of users access to only the information for their giving program.   Branch Security eliminates the need for multiple databases, which must be consolidated periodically for a complete picture of an organization's overall giving information.  With the consolidation method, the consolidated data is always out-of-date, whereas Branch Security provides an immediate, up-to-date picture of an organization's overall giving program.
